Service Provider

This service is provided by FAW Cornwall who can be contacted at contact@fawcornwall.co.uk or via the enquiry forms on their website at FAWCornwall.co.uk

By using this website these Terms of Service, the Returns Policy and Privacy Policy shall apply in their entirety without exception.

Service Provider Obligations

FAW Cornwall undertakes to provide First Aid Training with skill and care and which is compliant with the HSE regulations on the provision of First Aid. All First Aid Training will follow the current recommended advice, as provided and regulated by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB). FAW Cornwall commits to treating all trainees with equality and respect, with consideration of their individuality and diversity, whilst also ensuring reasonable adjustments are made for each trainee to meet their individual needs.

Training Delivery

All training will be delivered following the First Aid Industry Body’s (FAIB) guidance. The following number of hours will be delivered for each course; First Aid at Work = 24 hours delivered over 3 days, First Aid at Work Requalification = 16 hours delivered over 2 days, Emergency First Aid at Work = 8 hours delivered over 1 day. Where operationally necessary, a company can request an alternative delivery schedule provided; a) it is agreed upon in advance by all parties, b) the minimum number of training hours outlined above can be achieved. All training instructors shall be FAIB approved and current FAIB Training Instructor Members (a full list is available on the FAIB website)

Trainees

FAW Cornwall welcomes everyone to train with them and respects their Equality and Diversity without discrimination. Where trainees are under 16 their employer is reminded to ensure all DBS checks are completed with FAW Cornwall before commencement of the course (please message contact@fawcornwall.co.uk if any of your trainees are under 16)

First Aid at Work Refresher Trainees

To attend the First Aid at Work Requalification course all trainees must have completed a First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work Requalification course within the last 3 years.

Payments and Refunds

All payments must be made in advance, usually through the FAW Cornwall website. Where alternative payment methods are used, or additional payments are required (see change in trainee numbers in the Returns Policy), these will need to be made as soon as possible after receipt as training certificates will not be issued until all outstanding bills have been paid. All agreed refunds shall be paid by FAW Cornwall within 21 days of the agreement.

Liability

FAW Cornwall shall be liable for ensuring all its training is up to date and meets the necessary HSE requirements. Recommended First Aid practices are constantly updated and can only be guaranteed to be accurate at the time of training. It is the responsibility of the trainee and their employer to stay up to date with any major changes in advice, however this can usually be achieved by retraining every 3 years.

Intellectual Property

Presentation slides used during training remain the intellectual property of FAW Cornwall and FAIB and may not be used in any way or form without the express permission of both FAW Cornwall and FAIB. All wording, images, layout, and formatting used on this website remains the intellectual property of FAW Cornwall and may not be use, in any format, without its express permission.

All wording, images, layout, and formatting used on this website is considered to be covered by copyright law and remains the intellectual property of FAW Cornwall and may not be use, in any format, without its express permission. No part, in whole or in portion, of this website may be used in any format for commercial purposes by any other persons without the express permission of FAW Cornwall.

Confidentiality

All trainee’s personal information, views, opinions and image, whether written, verbal or in any other format, will remain confidential and will not be used in any way or format without the express permission of the trainee. FAW Cornwall commits to adhere to GDPR guidance as an absolute minimum. FAW Cornwall employees commit to total confidentiality when on employers premises and will not divulge any potentially sensitive company information whether demonstrated, explained, seen, overheard, concluded received or via any other method.

Disputes

Any disputes that arise over the quality or substance of training received from FAW Cornwall can be raised initially with FAW Cornwall for a suitable resolution. Where a resolution can not be reached this can be taken up with the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) who are able to step in where a breach of the quality standards they uphold are believed to have occurred.

Changes in these Terms of Service

These Terms of Service may be changed/updated from time to time without notice. However, the Terms of Service that were in place at the point of booking each course with FAW Cornwall shall apply until completion of the training. When booking further courses it is advised to check the Terms of Service for any changes that may have occurred in the mean time.

Trainee Conduct

All trainees are required to uphold minimum standards of conduct during their training. Any aggression, either physical or verbal, towards instructors or other trainees will not be tolerated and is likely to result in the trainee being removed from the course. All trainees must uphold minimum standards of respect for equality and diversity towards instructors and other trainees and any acts of intolerance towards race, sex, religion, age, sexual orientation, or any other form of discrimination will not be tolerated and is likely to result in the trainee being removed from the course. Trainees must not drink alcohol or take recreational drugs immediately before or during their training. Minor acts of poor conduct will result in a warning by the instructor and where this persists it is likely to result in the trainee being removed from the course. Where a trainee has been removed from the course the following shall apply; a) no training certificate shall be issued, b) no refunds shall be given, c) their employer will be given full details of their behaviour and reason for removal from the course, who may then choose to take further action against the employee at their discretion.

Force Majeure

Should unforeseen circumstances occur outside either party’s control that prevent a training course from taking place the following shall apply. Where FAW Cornwall cancels an event, but the trainees would have been able to attend the fault will lie with FAW Cornwall and a full refund will be issued. Where the customer cancels an event, but the FAW Cornwall would have been able to attend the fault will lie with the customer and no refund will be issued. Where neither party would have been able to attend neither party will be to fault and the training event will be rebooked on an alternative date with no bills or refunds issued. Where this is not possible within a 6 month period a 50/50 blame policy shall apply and a 50% refund issued by FAW Cornwall.

Public Comments

Any public comments posted on this website must abide by FAW Cornwall’s strict policy or they shall be removed. Public Comments may not; a) divulge personal data about any person that would normally be considered private information, b) encourage any illegal act, c) be racist, sexist, homophobic, religiously intolerant, or in any other way be considered discriminatory, d) be seen to be bullying, threatening, or intimidating any individual, e) be considered to be offensive to any individual or group of individuals, f) in any other way be considered by FAW Cornwall to not be in the public interest, not withstanding that FAW Cornwall encourages freedom of speech and right to personal expression where this does not cause offence or upset to other website users.
